Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire County Council Trading Standards have launched a new initiative that aims to look out for and lock up doorstep criminals across the county. Every day in Northamptonshire people are prone to falling victim to distraction burglars and rogue doorstep traders. Most of the victims are elderly or vulnerable. A Doorstep crime Action Network (DAN) has been set up comprising members of the public together with public, private, charity and community sector organisations. The launch took place at the Sports Pavilion in Wootton Hall Park, on Monday 7 September and was attended by colleagues from across the Force, Northamptonshire County Council Trading Standards and representatives from the sector organisations eager to join "DAN". to read more...
